what suspension do i have 85 vette
I heard you can look under cargo lid behind the driver side to find out if it has Z51 or standard suspension. I found the service parts identification label and cant see anything in regards to that...am I missing something?
I found some 16x9's for sale that are mint that I would like to buy but not sure if I have the 16 x 8's. Car I buried in a small garage at the moment so hard to do the steering wheel turn test or look on the inner rim.

Interesting car
Z49 Canadian
K05 - Block Heater (I believe maybe only available with Canadian build - not certain)
W82 - Car of the Year 'DECAL' (Is the decal still on the lift glass left side?)

Very early 85. Car #1011. Black with graphite cloth interior. No handling package, no boost fan, no engine oil cooler, no HD cooling. Automatic transmission. Rear defog. Power driver seat. 3.08 axle ratio. Should be a Dana 36.
I did the above from memory. I'm sure I made some mistakes, but the crew here will be all over me for the next 15 posts correcting me.

GM didn't make a 16" x 9" wheel for our C4's.
There are a lot of 16" wheels that can fit. But make sure what the bolt pattern and offset are for the wheels you want.
Good luck.

non Z51 handles just fine, oil coolers are easy to add
Manual AC? No abs no vats, things to like about the earlier ones.

My 86 should be pretty much the same as the 85 with the exception I have ABS while the 85's don't. Mine is not a Z51 and it came with 16x9.5 +38 offset rims on it. I wanted to go with larger diameter rims because of tire selection and found some 18x9.5 +40 rims that fit perfect. Add 255x40zr18 tires that they fit just like the oem 255x50zr16 tires did.
You can see them on my Avatar picture.
Just FYI.

another z31 canadian car with block heater!
are you in canada? im in calgary and my 3rd c4 wound up being a canadian car.
your car will massively benefit from an updated chip to the latest prom chip for an 85. f your car feelslike it stack shifts then its still has the early 85 prom chip.

I've had someone else mention the chip to me. Said it made a huge difference. Stack shifts meaning it shifts through the gears very quickly?
