same size wheels/tires front and rear
can i have same size rear and front tires and wheels on my 93 coupe. i hope to be able to drive the Dragon and also ride some of the beautiful roads in Arkansas. it just seems to me that being able to rotate my wheels would help with tire wear but also spare tire if ever needed. what do you experts have in advice for this novice Chevy owner (first time ever), i am a Ford man by heart but trying to see the other side of life.

the answer is yes. my 1996 came stock from the factory with 17x9.5 wheels and P275/40 ZR17 tires front and rear
the RPO codes for '96 in this option were:
QA1 - Styled aluminum wheels, 17 x 9.5"
XAU - Front tire P275/40 ZR17
YAU - Rear tire P275/40 ZR17

I'm running 275/40-17's on the front of my 93 with no problems at all. Lots of guys go even bigger on the front without issue. But note, I went to aftermarket 9.5 rims all around. You likely have 9 1/2's out back but 8 1/2's on the front. 274/40 is pushing it width wise on an 8 1/2 inch rim.
By the way, nice 'Wing. I'm right there with ya...

Yup, as stated above, 9.5's on all 4 was an option some C4 model years. If you want to stick with the sawblades, another pair of 9.5's like you have in back can replace the 8.5's you currently have up front. 275 tire width on all 4 is recommended when going this route.
My '94 also has 8.5 & 9.5 staggered setup. If I ever change the wheels, I'd probably go 9.5/275 all around for the same reason you mentioned.

That is what I did. I had the staggered 8.5" & 9.5", but I found another set of sawblades for my '95 and put the 9.5" all around.
I also put a square setup on my '96 with the CE style wheels.
The square setup fits fine. I also ran a square setup with 285/40/17 all around and they fit fine too.

All the above is correct. You can also fit 315/35/17 tires all around on 17x11 wheels, believe it or not. You have to make sure you use 50mm offset, and they will fit in your stock fenders/wells. An alternative is 315/30/18 tires on 18x11 wheels, same offset. I have both for my 96. The wheels in my avatar pic are actually 11.5, with the extra half-inch all to the outside. They sorta-kinda poke out a teeny bit, but 11" wheels don't.
