All I see is value when I look at the c4 market. Price is what you pay, value is whet you get. No other market exists where you get so much value for such low prices.

C4 for its true Corvette driving experience, and you sink down into a cockpit and wear a C4 like a glove. C5 is roomier and considerably weaker in the overall driving experience area. I admit it did have a better chassis and handled much better. When I had my C5 I always felt like the car's ingress-egress had been designed with older wide body owners in mind. Maybe it was, considering Corvette owners are a loyal bunch and perhaps Chevrolet had to take a look at that in order to entice aging C4 owners to trade in.

I see the Corvette's value has been brought up. The C4 is an old car. I paid $6300 for my 1992 ZF transmission 72k miles great condition inside/out. My first Corvette was my red 1988 that I paid $3500. $23,000 later it's fair to say be careful what you buy. Best value makes me think of the C5 Z06 and the C6 Z06. The C6 ZR1 is selling for $50,000- $60,000. Compare a Corvette mentioned to a car of equal value and my money is on the Corvette.

Things I like especially about the C4...
  • the clamshell hood!
  • the uniqueness of the LT5 and the sounds they make!
  • the way it feels and handles
  • I just like the LOOKS of the C4 - the later ones especially

I also like the Atari dash in my 89. It screams 80's and always brings a smile to a first time viewer.

The C4 is without question one of the best bangs for your buck in the history of automobiles. They are beautifully designed, perform amazingly well, deliver excellent gas mileage given their performance, are fairly simple to repair, parts are not terribly expensive in most cases, they sound amazing and they bring people together. I can't think of another car that brings people together like a Corvette. I don't think I could ever be without one honestly.

I like cockpit feeling you get when your sitting behind the wheel. The performance and handling is still capable. Most of all it's not so high tech that you can't maintain it for the most part yourself.

Absolutely! I paid less for my C4's than I did for my ATV and they are just as much fun to drive, although their cross-country performance is a bit lacking

I just like the way 91-96 C4's look, for me after that everything else is a bonus, have owned the polo green roadster since 2003 and after a 2 year search for a dark purple 96 coupe this roadster fell into my lap last Sept.

Great sports car driving experience, classic sweeping lines (not the outrageous "look at me" stuff you see nowadays), awesome bang for the buck.

I am not sure about outperforming most modern vehicles. With its low stance and wide tires, the handling of the the C4 is better than most regular cars/sedans/hatchbacks.
But in straight-line performance, not so much:
The 4-cylinder turbo Mustang goes 0-60 in 5.2 seconds (FOUR CYLINDERS)
The V6 Camaro goes 0-60 in 5.3 seconds
Hyundai Genesis V6 goes 0-60 in 5.3 seconds
All these cars have back seats, and none has a V8.

The LT1 6M with 3.45 rear goes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds ... After 60mph, the old Vette will pull away due to it's aerodynamics.

That's 1/2 their problem!

The value of the C4 today is astounding. The amount of suspension, power, features, technology, content and style...the amount of CAR you get for the money is unbelievable.

I like the car best though, for the way it drives. Everything about it is "right"; the steering, the throttle response, the clutch, brakes, the "athleticism", the amount of feed back you get....it's all just about perfect. It makes for a fun, interactive experience.

Ditto with all of the above. Plus the C4 still gets looks, still get the "Hey nice Vette what year is it?" You just don't see them on the road anymore. Car just puts a smile on my face when I slide in and drive.
