I'm needing to replace my control unit as it sometimes has a mind of its own and doesn't work right while displaying it's own language on the temp readout. I need help with who to deal with to get one and could someone tell me the difference between the 2 that corvette america offers. The ony difference I see is one says electronic air conditioning. I have rear defogger and heated mirrors.
part #s 34347, 39492
I just got surprised by GM parts dealer. I called local dealer to see if another part I had ordered had come in and then asked him to check a price on climate control head unit. I also told him I was looking at them online. He said his was $330. When I told him the price of some online he said he could reduce his price to $250.
Mine started acting up about a month ago. Someone on the forum told me to try this method before buying another ac unit.
Take the unit out and there are two clips on the side of the unit. Take the front panal apart from base. There are some pins on the circuit board that get dirty and lose contact. Clean the pins with an eraser until shiny. He also suggusted replacing the bulbs while there. It takes 3 number 37 ge bulbs. I did all of this this weekend and it took care of my problem. Try this before going to spend extra money. It might take care of your problem.
