wouldn't it be fun

Maybe the car could tour the united states from west coast to east coast for different events, and people from different areas could bring their parts and install them. Someone could keep track of the parts and their value with a I pad or laptop. Valuation of parts would come from at least 5 ads for the same part on the corvette forum parts classifieds.
That way, the condition of the car could be posted for all to see.
Pick chevy events somewhere across the country, and start with basically a stripped frame and everyone brings their parts and bolts them on. Then at the end of the season, the car is auctioned off, and everybody gets paid according to the value of the parts they brought.
For instance, someone brings an engine. Say that engine would be worth $1500. For the sake of the get together, he is willing to take $1000.
Someone else brings a set of wheels and tires. yada yada yada.
people from all across the united states could meet corvette people in their area!
Everybody signs their part so it could be fun!
wouldn't work.
Someone would be unhappy with the money they got.
People would argue whether to build an early or a late car.
People would not travel too far with large items, like hood.
If all the items to build the car didn't show up, it would be a joke.
If the parts were no good....etc.
If everyone was a corvette expert, nothing would get fixed without an argument
Nobody bid on the car.....
Although, the corvette group is an honorable and reliable bunch.....
Then the last dismal fact.
What would people be willing to spend for a car that may or may not be complete, is 14 colors, smokes, multicolored interior, and the wheels wobble and the transmission doesn't shift?
there would be hundreds of people bringing their troubleshooting skills.
It could be fixed. Whatever the issue.
I know, let's get someone to drift it at the last event!
The person bringing the frame would have to surrender the title to a trustworthy individual, and that trustworthy individual would surrender that title when auctioned.
If the car wasn't sold, it could be loaned to corvette clubs across the country for weekend thrashes.
There woud have to be a kitty that each club contributed to so tires and wear items could be replaced.
The person who destroys the car donates $5000 to a chosen charity?
Hmmm sounds more and more like a pipe dream...........
Oh well, it was a fun idea at first.........
Maybe we could build 2 cars and race each other!!!!!! lol

The main issues I see are getting someone to transport the thing, and getting the base to start with. I suspect it would be easier to do as a regional thing, in like the DFW area or something.

got to have a skeleton first. thirty flatbeds to get it from place to place.
Wow, no damage concept there!
