My 1995 is not a daily driver. I would like to have opinions on companies that offer "Corvette Coverage". Please provide any experiences you have had and companies to contact or avoid.

http://www.grundy.com/

Cheap no hassle coverage. Their model is basically the same as Hagerty. Has to be garaged, not your daily driver and you choose the value.

The problem with Hagerty is they won't cover your car if it's less than 25 years old which some C4s still don't fall under. It seems like a stupid stupid stipulation when looking at it from perspective of the C4 generation. Right now they will cover a 93 but not my 96.

The problem with these policies is they don't allow running errands- grocery store, bank, library, etc.
I had one on my '90 but went back to a conventional policy because it's more of a daily driver.
All depends on your usage.

NCM "full" coverage for my '90 roadster costs about $220 per year. Hagerty, for the same coverage, wants almost double. Strangely, I previously had a '74 roadster with Hagerty, and "full" coverage was about $250. Go figure.

I am with NCM Insurance for my 88 35th. Mine cost around $270 a year with ability to use it when I want and go where I want. This is for 3000 mi/year. You can get it for less if you don't intend to do anything but go to shows or cruise ins.

State Farm. Not my daily driver. $20.00 extra a month with agreed upon value at $10,000. No restrictions. Does not have to be garaged.

It's weird how this happens. I had three cars insured under geico, and my friend had 3 insured under allstate, but he was paying less. I called allstate and they quoted me even higher than geico. The representative even said that what I was paying with geico was really low and no way they could do better. I'm starting to think they just throw darts at the board for quotes and make stuff up as they go along

I use Grundy insurance on my '96. I had to use them last summer for a small accident in the rear (cosmetic right rear and exhaust). They were very good to deal with.

- not to go OT, but AAA is something I need to look into for conventional coverage. my neighbor has a 2018 jeep trackhawk, 707 HP, supercharged, AWD -- one mean SOB. he pays about the same, for the same coverage, here in florida, as what my wife pays for her 2014 Honda CR-V through state farm. she's been driving for 50 years, with not so much as a parking ticket. so, I've got to wonder, WTF? BTW, we've been with state farm since October 1968 -

Talking about who pays what on insurance and how company A is cheaper than company B is pointless. Especially on a forum where people live in different states. There are lots of variables when getting quoted such as age, gender, married/single, urban/city, population, kinds of vehicles in area where you live, etc.

Huh. My Hagerty coverage includes all usage -- shows, errands, trips and such. I can drive my Corvette daily if I please, after April 1 (an Illinois license stipulation) but other than that bit of nonsense, it's no big deal.

And to the person who questioned "why 25 years?" -- that's what most states define an antique car as -- 25 years old or older. While insurance companies don't have to follow state age regulations, most do if for no reason other than convenience. So a car that's 24 years old doesn't count; once it's 25, even by one minute, it can be on the book.

NCM here. I can drive it to work which was my main sticking point with the other collector coverage insurers.

I have Haggerty too. It's costing me $359 yearly with $7500 in value living in NYC. When compared to others they are much more expensive. I need to switch to another company.

If I remember correctly, the 84 costs about 130$ a year. Don't remember who it is through. The only down side is you get a 3000 mile a year limit but I really don't drive it much so its all good. I also have the QQ plates so no inspection and registration is on a 3 year renewal...
