Default low coolant indication

My 89 L98 lo coolant light has been flickering on and off for almost a year now. First thing I did was flush the cooling system and go for a run with no change the light still came on. Next thing was to take the radiator out and clean the leaves and debris out from in front... still have low coolant indication although engine temp dropped significantly. Next I notice a coolant leak in the area of the water pump, so I put in a new pump and, thermostat, and radiator cap and burped the system but still have low coolant indication blinking on and off although she ran at a temp in the low 180's and no leaks and the radiator is topped off. Today I read the resistance of the low coolant level sensor and the meter said the resistance is over 1.5 Meg ohms. what do you guys think of that reading I understand it is high and what resistance should I be looking for? Thanks for your replies... Leaps!
