Default Too many tech threads in here!

Why are so many people posting tech threads in the "General Discussion" section instead of the "TECH/Performance" section? I could pick a dozen threads just on the first page of "General Discussion".

I understand the general section encompasses everything but seeing that there is a Tech section the tech related threads should go there.

When I login I like to look at the general section for random C4 chat. Instead I see thread after thread of tech questions AND the same questions over and over again.

Before starting a new thread SEARCH for the info. Plenty of topics have been discussed over and over again...

I'm not trying to be rude but I just want people to be aware of where they are posting their threads so the forum stays organised.

Rant over.

Also why don't the mods move the tech topics to the tech section?

They should just merge the two.

While it's probably not a bad idea if people actually posted in the correct section then we wouldn't have the idea to merge them.

Some people have too much time on their hands. With all the things to worry about in this world, some are concerned that people are posting in the "wrong" forum? Really? Here's a novel thought. All threads have a title. If it looks like tech and that knots your panties - DON'T CLICK ON IT. MOVE ON! As far as repeat discussions, does it occur to some that the participants are doing it willingly? If they weren't, the thread would die. Again, don't click , move on.

I have to agree with you arbee, on all points. If you aren't interested in the topic just move on. This site is excellent. Its well managed and except for a few jerks, flame free. Keep up the good work.

Woah buddy, calm down. Sounds like I struck a nerve. I'm guessing your tech questions go in the "General" section instead of the "TECH" section right?

You sure sound offended.

You are part of the problem...

There is a reason 2 DIFFERENT sections exist. Do you also drive the wrong way on a one way street because it's just a street?

Sad truth.

The F/I section got condensed in to the Tech section, because not many people tuning c4's anymore.

Now the Tech section is pretty much a ghost town too, so if people want a response they go where the action is.

Many knowledgeable people left the forum based on Moderators, other members, and personality differences, but most of all, many moved on years ago to different stuff, plus people get tired of repeating the same answers to the same questions over and over.

ALMOST every question that pertains to anything c4 most likely has been answered somewhere sometime here or another corvette forum and can be found through google searches or local searches.

The REAL Tech guys don't usually come in to Gen section.

Sorry to disappoint you Hoss, but no nerves struck here because I don't take this forum as serious as obviously you do. Take it for what it is - an internet chat site amongst a bunch of faceless beings. I guess your original post is now put in perspective by your equating internet posting to driving on a street. Carry on!

PS: Read the two posts following my original.

I'm not the only one who thinks people need to post in the correct section.

Look at a thread you started. "Degreeing a camshaft" in the General section...

Like I said YOU are part of the problem.

Thanks for chiming in and helping me prove my point buddy!

Its a forum. sometimes its hard to control the world so we just put up with it and press the gas harder and hope we don't get caught.

Opps this should have gone in OT.....

And, I like the way Chuck moderates it too. Good job!

While you're picking nits, try and correct their grammar as well.

I disagree with you. So you are just going to ignore the fact that you are posting tech questions in the general section then? The fact that there are 2 sections proves you are wrong. If they intended all threads to go into the general then only the general section would exist...

WOAH watch out! Rational thoughts!

This is the ONLY forum I'm part of that puts up with this. All other forums the mods move incorrectly placed threads.

It's sloppy IMO.

This wouldn't be a problem if people like you would post in the correct section. Let me explain it again in case you didn't catch it the first time. There are 2 SECTIONS, if all threads were intended to go into the general section than the tech section wouldn't exist.

Pretty much all forums out there split up tech from everything else because tech is quite in-depth all by itself. To ignore that shows you are a troll who doesn't care about forum etiquette.

Could be that some people just don't know what constitutes a tech? I've been for some time and don't see a guide to go by?

Hoss, you need to calm down before you stroke out or run out of emojis, whatever comes first! You already are all worked up on a perfectly nice Sunday morning! LOL

Obviously, this subject is dear to your heart. I, personally, have far better things to concern myself with than how people post on an internet form. If that is your thing, fill your boots.
