Newer door panel

Tabs on the back are probably broken. They look like nice panels, but very cheap construction.

Probably the case. The panels bend, and the ribs on the back break. Then when you go to hag the panel, it won' grip to door itself and stay in place. Usually sits too high and flops forward.

They sure were... partially. The top isn' attached to the ribs any more though, hence the panel popping off. You can see it on the left side of your picture.

Also the screw mounts for the door pulls might be too high on the inner aluminum door structure (one with the inner door handle)
I have 94-96 panels on my 1990 and they seem to fit ok

Strikes me as not being an easy thing to do that would last...I did the repair of ribs in mine several years ago and it's held up well, but I really think all the ribs need to be there for the door panel repair to hold up.

Fixing that is something I've been working on for a bit. I think it can be fixed with epoxy or other adhesive, but I've not finished it yet.
