Gaining HP
what would be needed to be done to bring car close to 450-500 HP before forced induction?
I have a 94 LT1. 84K con the clock.
cars mods are basic
MSD Ingition
SLP cold air intake
GMMG ehaust
tuned
bigger throttle body (BBK?)
transmission also built for 600+ HP (with a shift kit, shifts HARD from 1st to 2nd )

Simple answer.
Full bolt on on a 350 that can run on pump gas will make 425hp.
Make it a 383+ci with some porting and tuning, and you have 500hp+.
heads, cam, headers, full exhaust, 1.6 rr's, tune. Gears will help too.

Or, just toss a newer gen motor in with all the electronics.
I did this myself years ago (scca build).. find yourself a good machine shop.. they can point you in the right direction.

You're looking at a pretty decent heads cam stroker build to do 500 wheel without forced induction or nitrous.

Hard to get a whole lot more than 4xx to hook up, a healthy 383 or 396 can still run on pump and keep up with lots of new stuff if not suprise them. a 600hp car is worthless if all it does is go up in smoke.

I’d be happy at 450 RWHP
im thinking heads and cam package with some long tubes. Oh I already have bigger injectors as well. Previous owner did that.

Put the biggest crank you can stuff in it, a very good cyl head. Better the head less cam youll need, 450 isnt that tough to get. The bigger the motor the easier it comes. Id never fool with a 350 unless it was left stock or real mild.
You need to be real sure you are going to do F.I. so you get the right piston, right CR and gap the rings properly.
Seems to be one or the other who wants to tear it down swap pistons and do it over?
Find someone with a quick C4, go for a ride go from there. Supercharging and chasing power gets super expensive, big time.
New cars have nannies that give em perfect traction, 8 spds to choose from wait til your rolling.

The hp numbers I gave are based off dynos in the past all over the net for years.
People forget whp can be up to 100hp difference depending on trans set up , dyno, etc.
425hp 350 will get you around 360-400 whp all things considered.
Still moves a c4 out pretty quick.
If you start to build a c4 you usually start to break other parts or find the weak ones.

Hell maybe even an LS swap. Couple of 6.2 engines for sale reasonably cheap. Sure they’re 100K Plus miles, but I’d tear it down and rebuild and forge everything before I install engine. I just don’t want to be a push over for the newer cars haha. I’d love to surprise someone and have them say **** that C4 is quick for it being old haha.

450 whp, will not happen unless you go low compression and boosted or ci.
