Default armrest saver?

I ran across the armrest saver from zip, Wilcox and ecklers and wondered if anyone has tried them and had any thoughts?

I have Wilcox installed in mine..

Seems to work well. It really does feel like a hard yank on the armrest would break it, otherwise.

PS: Thanks for taking the time for me when I PM'ed you about your wheels a year or so ago. Linking them and all that.

I ended up getting some just like them. PMD finish and all.

They look great!

Of course if you had an OPTI-SPARK C4 you wouldn't need those braces.

OPTI-SPARK C4's came with much more robust arm rests

Forgot where I bought them but they seem to strengthen the armrest pretty dramatically. Had to ream out the screw holes to properly fit but that took only moments with a rasp.

If you remove the armrest, you could actually see where the plastic under the screws in that pocket was breaking up, leaving you to basically pull on the foam. Maybe it's wear or over tightening? But the supports helped.

thanks - found some and they are on the way - you can clearly see where the pad is starting to separate - perhaps a little glue in there -after the new support- will help

I had a set in my C4 for 20 plus years, you will notice immediately when you crap the door and pull to close, how strong your arm rest just became.
Simple installations, two screws if I remember!

That's one of the better mods to give your car!

My door panels were completely destroyed when I bought it, just held together by good thoughts.
I made some of these out of an old license plate and now the armrest/door pull is the most solid part of the whole thing.
I'm sure store bought ones are even better.
