Default AC o ring Replacement

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since my last post. I am working on my '89 C4. I am replacing the ac o rings. I have just one qurstion. Do I need to put lube on the o rings? They came dry. Was told by a friend to use vaseline. Hope he wasn't jiving me!
Your help is deeply appreciated!

Well in the interest of just getting it done, a tiny amount of Vaseline would probably be ok. Just use the least amount possible. It would be better to use ac system oil, but ultimately is should be fine either way. Just don't get any inside of the lines.
