I had an 88, ended up selling it so I could by my wife a new car, single now and I bought another Vette a 1992, I have a question, the Bose sound system, is it worth fixing? there are so many nice options now and the cost is a lot less than repairing the Bose system in the car now, any advise?
Welcome back!
You might want to ask your question in either the audio section of the forum https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...lectronics-20/, or in the C4 section at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/, however, the opinion of many I know is that if you are having to spend much money to repair the Bose system then you are better off with new equipment. As you said, stereo equipment has come a long way in the 26-27 years since your car was built.
Good luck.
Update: Oops - rkj427 beat me to the links. Great minds just think alike!

JMO, buying new system probably cheaper than fixing Bose, unless you only have blown amps and fix them yourself. Look at YouBoob, Mark970. Do you have any reason to want to keep it original? Prob. won't make your car terribly more valuable to keep Bose.
You ask me, replace, there are so many nice upgrades to pick from, bluetooth your phone and iPod along GPS system, or perhaps while installing a radio you want Sirius radio to install additional receiver and buy plan.
I experience when I had my C4, fix one box, another went out.
Here is your opportunity to install something you might enjoy lot better then original radio.
