Default Rack & Pinion

1989 117,000 miles
Just had a re built rack & pinion installed in the car ( Zip-Corvette was the cheapest ) had it in stock no shipping charge and I'll return the core for the $300 back
Steering is much better, no wander now and less vibration, still have to go get it front end alligned

During that process the Garage says motor and transmission mounts are bad. So that's next. I do feel the engine moving a bit when shifting or pushing it. So no more of that until work is done

Run away from that garage. There is no transmission mount on a C4. The tranny is connected to the rearend by the C-beam. I am using my original motor mounts on my 84 after 34 years and over 4000 quarter mile runs. Yours are probably fine. Not sure why they are playing with engine mounts replacing a string rack. The motor does not have to be raised.

When I replaced the engine in my 84 in 2014 the engine mounts were showing no sign of wear.
