a friend has a 95 C4. the other day he drove the cat for about two hours then parked car. About 20 minutes later he got into car turned key on and everything appeared to work. turned key to start position and nothing. tried periodically for about 2 hours and nothing. Then it started fine. fully charged battery. drove to mechanics garage. next day it started fine for them and they can find nothing wrong. connections all appear to be good.
Could malfunction of security system cause this? any solutions?
I would say, there is known problem, and it's not the security system of the car.
My guess, cause it happened to me and others more then likely report the same problem they experienced.
My problem was when the engine was hot, the starter gets hot, and is seized so it can't do anything, but opening the hood, cools the engine, and it starts like there isn't anything wrong.
You need to replace the starter it's getting heat sink!
