Default Air Filter attachment

1989 automatic. Stock. 53000 miles

Has anyone designed a new way to attach the air intake housing unit to the top of the radiator. I’m so tire of messing with those bolts that stick up from the top of the radiator cover into the air intake housing Is there another type I could buy? I changed throttle body which requires I use smooth flow intake duct which makes the whole attachment problem worse

How often are you taking the thing apart that 3 bolts are too much hassle?

Thanks for your input, but as I said I have new through body that won’t fit oem air intake duct. New throttle body with hard and not as flexible smooth intake duct does not fit as EASY or correctly to air filter housing. Do you have an alternate set up? By the way there are only 2 bolts

FWIW, if you are talking about the two thumbscrew bolts on either side of the AF housing I have been running with them just sitting loose in the holes for 10+ years. Whatever they are supposed to thread into is no longer there, so the thumbscrews just rest in the holes. 20,000+ mi and no issues.

Yes, that’s the ones. The ***** screw onto a bolt that is attached to the top of the radiator snd come thru the housing to hold filter housing tightly down

Well mine have not been bolted to anything for years, so you could probably just leave them out entirely. Rocco's idea for velcro is a good one as well.
