Does anyone have a pic of this on their engine where Chevrolet originally put it? I want to know exactly where to put it because I just bought one. Thanks!
I've seen them on the valve covers, that's where mine are. I think, if you didn't have a Mobil One oil fill cap stock, then they go on the valve covers. I know that's my case, and I've been wanting the cap to say Mobil One too. It's something that I've been paying attention to since I've owned my car, and it looks like how they did it. :seeya
I would speculate it was added by a previous owner.. Your the first '93 owner ithat i've spoken to that has one.. weird.. anyone else?
I've seen others, at shows, with the same as mine, without the cap. But you're prolly right about the previous owner, I'll have to ask him. Who really knows what was stock??? :seeya
I'm pretty sure it's original. Also, my 93 has a blue and white sticker on the radiator shroud that says that the engine requires special engine oil meetimg GM Standard GM4718M, and the filler cap says Special Engine Oil Required. There is no specific mention of Mobil 1, other than the tag on the hood. It was built in May, 1993. Maybe this was a late model year change?
I beleive that the change from the Bowling Green plate to the Mobil 1 plate was at the start of the 94 model year.
Actually I believe it was in '96. That's my pic of my '94 with the Mobil sticker. There was a thread about this a while back and some in '96 got the sticker and some got the cap.
