This may be a dumb question, but what exactly does fogging do to the engine? Does it just coat the cylinders with oil?
Also, last year when I stored it, I followed pretty much the general procedure, except fogging. When I started it in spring, I didn't have oil pressure for about 10 secs. After that, everything was fine. I'm assuming that's because it was stored for 5 mos, and the oil was all in the pan. However, I didn't like that very much and it concerns me a little.
This year when I go to start it in spring, I was thinking of adding just a little oil before starting it to see if that helps.

correct :yesnod:
I never fogged my engine, but used to do it on my boat and jetskis each fall.
To fog, with the engine running, spray thru the carb until the engine stops.
Then remove plugs and fog thru the plug opening.
The reason for fogging thru thecarb was that there was a "rotary" valve on the SeaDoo that need lubrication, but Im not sure its needed on an automobile.
If you fogg, I would just fog thru the sparkpug hole, the turn the engine over once or twice.
Of course, you accomplishish the same thing if you just go out and start it up once a week or so :D
You might to try this. Disconnect the batt (I think) wire at the dist. and let it crank for 15 or 20 seconds before you start. This will let the oil circulate around the engine without the load of a start up.
