Does anyone know what this or if it even belongs to a 1984 Corvette? I found it on the garage floor and have no clue. The rubber boot slides off. One end is a threaded nut. The other end is nothing.

Check your brake calipers. May not belong to a Corvette but looks like a caliper type bolt.

I'm with these guys and I'd likely check the car before retrieving it from the shop. If it has internal threads on the open end it's very likely from your car or maybe was lying upon the frame rail or something and just found it's way to the floor.
I got the car back from paint, looks good. I vsually checked the brakes, with tires on, and each caliper had 2 slides. So, I'll take the wheels off and give it a better look.
