Got an ’85 with a 4+3 that I bought new in ’85 and a new Z06 in 2007. The ’85 was a garage queen until 2007 when I got the Z06. That’s when the ’85 became my daily driver. It still runs great, everything still works including the A/C. I’m now getting a new car and have to let one go. Which one should I keep?
How can any of us answer that?? Which car do you have more fun in? That's the car you should keep.
I had a C6 and then I got my '92. I had 'em both and never drove the C6 so I finally sold it. The '92 was more fun. Now....if I had a C6 Z06, it may have been different....but maybe not. Whatever, one car was fun and I wanted to drive it all the time. The other wasn't fun and I had no interest in driving it. 9 years later, I still own the '92 and don't miss the C6 at all.
So....for YOU, which car is more fun to drive? Keep that car.

Keep the C6 Z06. You like it enough for it to make your profile pic on the left...that and it’s a better car.
On a side note, the ‘85 Corvette was the original Corvette I fell in love with...funny enough, The first time I saw one was when I lived Katy, Texas as a kid. Small world.

Thanks for the thought. Both cars are great fun to drive in their own way. The ’85 has great steering feel and feedback, whereas on the Z06, the steering is pretty numb. But when it comes to brute power and speed, the Z06 is awesome. When it comes to maintenance and repair, the ’85 is a simple machine. Can’t say the same for the Z06. I guess I’ll have to do some more soul searching…

I totally agree on the steering.
The power thing was weird for ME; C6 had 100 more hp, and ran 1 second/10mph faster in the 1/4; 13.73/102 vs. 12.86/112....but you sure couldn't tell on the street! They felt the same. I live at 7050' elevation so neither car felt anything remotely like your car feels where you live. So w/o the brute power and speed component....
Yep, you need to think it out. It's a personal decision.

For me, I have had C4's and C5's. I keep going to the C4's because I think they are more fun to drive.
I also had an '85 4+3 Z51 for about 25 years. Loved it! The comments on the quick steering are correct. It was fun.
However, I had different plans and decided I wanted the 6 speed and to improve the motor performance. I finally sold the '85 and since have bought a '95 and a '96.
There are a lot of things to look at concerning what are your plans for the cars (mods/stock/etc) and what is their planned usage (track/street/pleasure/daily/etc) to help determine which way to go It may be the Z06 or the '85, or maybe even something else like the later C4's were for me.
The bottom line is what car do you look forward to driving and brings a big grin when you do?
No way ya can keep both huh? After years of selling things I can't really afford to replace like $$ guitars, Marshall stacks, various cars, wives... wait, did I just say wives, scratch that one.... workshop floor tools, quads etc., I've resolved to never sell anything I know I'll regret letting go. On the on the other hand, sell both and pack on options or go for the next model up.
