When my 92 auto coupe has been running for a while and the engine temps get about 215 or so it will often hesitate under heavy acceleration. Like no power is getting to the wheels, then all of a sudden it all comes at once and slams through the gears. I thought it might be trans related, so I took it to the trans builder (still under warranty). At first he could not find the malfunction but after taking an extended road test he told me he experienced the same symptoms but it is not transmission related. He also noticed it only happens under hard driving with higher engine temps.
I read multiple things about optispark but all those symptoms seemed to be more severe and consistent than my issues are. Any ideas on what this could be?
