I just received the harness bar this week and with a little pushing and shoving got it in place. I think the hardest part was by the shoulder straps. it was very snug fitting in there (probably got a few new scratches in the plastic that I did not have. I still have to put the covers back on the top holder brackets - they will be a little snug -.. I instantly noticed a difference leaving the driveway - I did not get the full body thrust and roll I used to. Some of the smaller bumps in the road really had little difference as the whole car shook from those. I do have to say that I do notice a somewhat more stable feeling in some turns and at some angles. now I have to find a way to reduce the squeaks in the roof panel - I presume stiffening one made the other a little more noticeable.

thanks for all the help everyone!!

Sean

Lubricating the weatherstrip will help with the squeaks and rattles and also making sure the bolts for the top are tight.

How are your weatherstrips ? Shrunken, dried weatherstrips allow squeaks and rattles.

thanks - I have not had the top off since I replaced it - the weatherstripping there is good but does probably need some lube - I know other places needs replacing altogether - I will recheck the bolts as well

As for the noise from the roof panel. Remove the panel and look for places that make contact and rub.
You can wipe the ares to see if theres an accumulation of "grindage" on these spots.
If so try to isolate the trouble spots using electrical (temporary) tape.
Once these spots have been ID'd, I used the soft "loop" side of self adhesive velcro tape.
Always torque the roof panel sitting on a level flat surface.
