Is this for real? A dealer is listing a 1996 Polo Green LT4 Convertable Hardtop. It is from a very repitable dealer. I'm not sure if I can say (or want to say from who) No it is not a GS or a CE. I wasnt aware a regular production was available in this combo. How rare is this combo?
Thanks in advance.
It just means that its a manual, the manual LT4 was available in any configuration. They wouldnt offer a convertible without the option of 6speed, and since all 96 6speeds were LT4....
YOu could get an LT4 in any 'vette that year, and there were no automatic LT4s. They were ALL 6-speed. Likewise, ALL LT1 'vettes were automatic. No exceptions, from the factory anyway. The hardtop is fairly rare, along with it being a 'vert and an LT4. Would be a nice investment and a fun 'vette.
Yes, Sir, it is for real :yesnod: LT4s were available in Coupes or Convertibles without having to be a Grand Sport or a Collector Edition, as the others have said here :yesnod:
If this is the particular green car I think you are referring to, it is 1 of 20 green/tan/F45 suspension LT4 Convertibles (there are 93 green/tan LT4 Convertibles, total - info from http://www.collectoreditionregistry.com). And I would be willing to bet that very few of those 20 came with the hardtop as a factory option  It's a rare car :yesnod: If I didn't love my yellow coupe so much, I'd very strongly consider that green convertible! (But I'm weird - I had to have the suspension that's even harder to find - Z51! Can't get that on a Convertible C4.)

Were ALL 6 speeds LT4s? I knew all LT4's were 6 speeds....but is the opposite true? No LT1 6 speeds in '96??? Edumicate me dood! :blueangel:
LT-4's came with any '96 Vette only (coupe or vert). They were standard on the GS however. I have a friend who has a '96 Competition Yellow LT-4 Coupe which is awesome!
