Having gotten my 84 pretty sorted out I needed something to keep me busy. Found a new project on craigslist. Needs a clutch and tires and overall the body is decent. Was advertised for $2500.
Pros: headlights, windows, power seats, radio and gauges work.
Cons: passenger door wouldn't lock at all or open from the outside, rear hatch inoperative, horn inoperative, passenger seat bottom support spring replaced with lumber !!!,, broke door key first time unlocking console, console lid broken, power locks and courtesy lights inoperative, hood cables broken, heater core by-passed.
It will never be "like new" but hopefully can make it presentable and roadworthy again.
Let the fun begin !!!.
I understand where you're coming from. I bought a '90 for $2k as a parts car with a rod sticking through the oil pan. It's road worthy now, original engine :-)
DAMN !!! I guess I did too good of a job. New owner drove the car away tonight. Didn't make a lot but the new owner is looking forward to finishing up what I had started. Time to hit the classifieds again....
