Just wanted to know if any of you guys have used the silicon coolant hoses.
I saw a 9 piece set on ebay for about 64.00 bucks,30 day money back and 5 year warrantee.
Reason i'm curious is that a set of regular hoses is like 200.00 bucks but silicon hoses should be better ,it's just the low price that has me wondering?
I'm planning to replace all the hoses and flush the whole cooling system in the spring and while i got all the hoses out of the way i will change the wires and plugs as well.
Previous owner replaced the water pump ,thermostat and some of the hoses but most are still original.
Do the knock sensors come out easily or is it going to be a battle to get them off?
Any input would be appreciated,car is a '92 LT1.
We have them on our formula race car they do pop off easy if not tighten perfectly but would also like to know if anyone is running them on a vet. They do look great.
Do some research on line. From what I read they are OK for a race car but not for a daily driver or street cruiser. It seems that they supposedly bleed through the silicone over time. Not sure - just what I read on a couple of sites.
I have Samco silicone hoses in my 93 lt1. I was under the impression they last longer. Plus, they look cool to me
It seems the Samco makes good quality hoses,of course they cost four times as much as the ones i see on ebay.
Thanks for the input guys,i got all winter to research and decide.
