The hatch release switches inside the driver and passenger door are not working. The one inside the glove box does work. Is there a fuse for the door switches? This just happened after the mechanic replaced the relay switch for my brake lights. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

pretty sure there is no switch on the passenger door... I had the same problem on my 85, they had me try the switch with the interior lights "on" from the head light switch....it suddenly worked and has worked ever since....
The door buttons will only operate when the interior lights are on. It sounds like your mechanic wired something wrong. If he was trying to bypass the interior lights timer, this can be done by connecting the two white wires together at the timer module. You mentioned the brake lights, but I'm guessing you meant to say the interior lights. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
There are release switches on both doors through at least 90, possibly 91. Do the dome lights come on when you open a door? If = NO, try the door release switches with the dash domelight switch ON. If the release switches now work, suspect the domelight timer has shot craps. .
had my 85 for 6 years now....just realized there's a switch in the passenger door......getting old is hell.....
Ok, here's what i found out. When I open the door, the dome lights DO NOT come on. I do not remember if the light inside the door would come on or not when I open the door, but it does come on when I press the light button.
HOTROD - My brake lights were out because that was discovered for inspection and the mechanic replaced a switch underneath the driver side dash to fix it.
**** I just tried turning the dome lights on by turning the head lamp switch on which they did go on AND the rear hatch DID open by the door hatches. I have had this car since 1998, and I have never had to turn the head light switch on to turn the dome light on to open the hatch. NEVER..... Any suggestions to this?

When I got the advice to do this, I too was shocked by how it worked!.....since then, the interior lights do come on at the appropriate time....go figure.....something was discombobulated....all I know was it worked.....
