Can't get 87' Vette out of reverse
Hi,
I have an 87' Corvette with a manual transmission (4 + 3) and have been having issues with the key ignition for past two years. Having a hard time getting key ignition turned to the OFF position to get my key out. The vehicle has to be in reverse to get the key out of the ignition. Just the other day, I can't get the manual stick out of reverse. Would replacing the key ignition switch solve this problem or is there an additional issue with the shifter? Also, my keys have a computer chip in them, if I replace the key ignition can that be programmed for my existing keys or would I need to replace the keys as well?
