I'm asking if anyone has experienced this problem, or may have some insight for troubleshooting/correcting it.
My '94 has the sport seat option and something's messed up with the seat controls for the pass seat. There's a slider switch that "switches" the control functions (6-way adj and lumbar/bolster) between the driver and pass seat, but no matter what position it's in, I can't make the pass seat move or tilt. Instead, the drivers seat moves no matter what position the slider is in. The wierd thing is that the slider switch does tranfer control of the lumbar/bolster functions properly to either seat. The switch is available for ~$115, and getting it out of the center console looks to be a pita. It would be nice to confirm that this would fix the problem before I go to the trouble and expense.
Welcome to the forum......I had a similar problem with my '94 and found it to be the wiring harness under the passenger seat. I removed the seat cushion and re-routed the wiring (I was just fooling around looking for an easy fix, rather than replacing the switch). I found that with the seat cushion removed and moving the wire bundle, the seat would position / operate correctly. Eventually I moved the wiring to an unrestricted position (seemed like it was bound up on one of the frame rails under the cushion) and added a piece of foam rubber to add some padding between the wiring and the seat. It's been several months and everything seems to be working fine. You might want to start with the easy stuff before tearing into the center counsole. Just my $.02.
This is a great forum!! I was hoping/suspecting that the wiring might be the cause. I have a bunch of nuisance items that all could point to wiring or ground problems. My cruise control doesn't work, the PKE is intermittent (just replaced the module and that helped, but it's still acting funny), and the electronic heater control head is intermittent. I'm suspecting the G201/202 ground points, that are located in the passenger and driver footwell areas, may be the problem.
