Timing?
Does anyone who lives local to Orange County have the tools, knowledge, and patience to teach me how to set timing?
I got the old set off pretty easy, but putting it on is where I don't know what I'm doing, and while part of me says ''it's only a few bucks, get a new one" another part of me says "you're still in school and don't have the money for the parts you definitely NEED, don't get a new set unless you need it". Can I reuse a timing set that looks like this?
Thanks,
-DJ
down it will be a solid tap tap. Side to side and tranny fluid on the crank for ease.
I would not put the nylon gear back, I put a double roller melling(https://www.pepboys.com/melling-high...HV?quantity=1#), not sure if it is double , they are not expensive and all metal. Even a single metal gear would be much better, whoever came up with the idea that nylon would be quieter is smoking something. Here is a good one also

As for the videos, I watched that first one already, and I don't get how to get the cam in the right spot before linking it to the crank....Like..how do you know where the lobes are? I know there's a tool set to do it, but is there an option that doesn't need me to find the lobes? Is the fourth(kinds fifth) hole on the cam sprocket mount an indicator?
I don't know a lot, and I don't have money to screw this up, so I'm reeeeally hesitant to do ANYTHING.
