Im sure this has been asked before but couldn’t find anything Have 93 Vette turn the key sounds like a dead battery or connection issue just hear a clicking sound I pulled the battery took it to my local auto zone it tested good put it back in same thing pulled the starter off and it tested good put it back in car started right up ant thoughts or ideas hate to be out somewhere and run into the same issue
Sounds like dirty connections to me. If you tested both the battery and starter and they checked out, my guess is that the connections were dirty and the on/off of the disconnect made better contact.

I'm not 100% sold on the starter tests. I have had a starter test good but the teardown didn't jive with the tests. How old is the starter? The one that tested good was fine cold but didn't work well hot.

Hate to say it but it looks like the original Starter Car has 73000 for a 1993 I Did buy a new battery and a Starter relay just haven't found the old one yet
The only other thing it might have been was the alternator which wasn't charging the battery. But your gauge should show if that was the issue. Is there a chance you might get stranded again? Yes.....the joy of owning an old car!!
Vats will interrupt the starter (and fuel injectors) if the key comes up as out of spec (that whole system is subject to degradation with time). The other thing it could be is the wiring to the starter. My trigger wire corroded over time and ended up needing replaced. I would check those two things.
