ive been challenged
ya.i didnt know where to post...kinds new to cars..some guy wants to race me. he has a 91 stock rx 7. i got a stock 85....who will win ?.....i wont race though...thanks in advance

Is his RX-7 a TurboII or a regular coupe? The TurboII runs from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and cuts a 1/4 mile time of 14.4s and has a top speed of 151 MPH. The coupe runs from 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and cuts a 1/4 mile time of 15.3 with a top speed of 138 MPH.
That's stock.
Stock 1985 Corvette Coupe is 0-60 in 6.0 seconds, cuts a 1/4 mile in 14.9s and has a top speed of 150.
I would say that stock for stock it would be very close. It would come down to the driver and the transmission types.

If he pulled up next to me at a light I'd run him and I wouldn't care WHAT he's got..........and I'm stock ........I swear it!!!!! (and I never ride with the privacy screen open and I don't open my hood except at shows.......... :lol: :lol:

From what I have seen , the Vette would definitely win. The RX-7 Turbo II's are 14 sec cars (ALL the mags of the day got 15's out of them though) but are NOT faster than a decent running L98 Vette stock v. stock. If it is not a turbo you will roast him.
Even early L98's were low 14 sec cars stock auto or manual. Good Luck

if you are new to cars, i wouldn't race him. Even if he is stock, and your vette has the ability to out perform his, it still comes down to driver exp. That is why vettemech would take him in his 100% stock. Experience goes a long way in life.

haha, I raced a 97 RX7 RZ last night, and got my butt HANDED to me..but then when I caught up with him at the next light, come to find out, it was my friend, and that was his new ride. :cool:

My bone stock L98 ran a 14.4 at the track. I say race him, in the safest area you can find, once you get to know your car really well.

Actually '85 vettes ran 5.4-5.7 0-60, and 14.1-14.5 in the 1/4 Stock..Z51's were usually on the faster side of the times.
