Hello All,
First let me say that I am happy to be on the Corvette Forum.
Please excuse me if I am not using the site correctly, I will learn.
I am replacing the top on my 1991 convertible, going from soft window, too glass window with defrost.
I purchased the top and the retro fit kit as seen in the attachments.
My question is there any real good instruction on how to install the retro kit so the new glass window lays down correctly.
The kit I bought directs me to a real good "how too" with pictures, but it does not explain how to use the retro kit,
any help would be greatly appreciated, I sincererely thank you for any help,,,,
I had purchased a cd/dvd from aoksales.com a few years ago that was a great benefit for me doing an install of a new top on my 95. It had a portion of the install going over the retrofit for the glass backlight. I sold the dvd a few months ago and just looked at their site, they don't seem to have that dvd listed now. Maybe shoot them an email and see if they'd make one for you? It was 40$, but it was a great dvd!! Very very helpful.
Good luck
I tried to order this DVD a few months ago as I'm going to replace the top on my 88. They accepted the order but then refunded me stating they didn't have any copies available and couldn't make any more (for some reason).
If you didn't attempt the install yet, I have a copy of the DVD instructions and am planning the same install. I have never done this before, but if you wanted a hand, I wouldn't mind helping to get the experience.
