Yesterday my 88 C4 decided to wake me at 3.50 am with it's horns blaring.
At first I thought it might be a problem with the security system, but the car starts and runs fine. It's just that I have to disconnect the horns from working.
Has anyone experienced this problem or have an idea what's causing it?
I've tried moving the steering wheel to see if it changes anything, but it still happens.

Are you locking the doors? Maybe a critter is tripping the alarm. When you put the key in it would shut the alarm and the car would start.

Same thing happened to me in a 81 Porsche 928 I had a few years ago. The horn started going at 3 am. On that car there is a metal strip on the turn signal module. By pressing the horn a contact engages that strip and it has a spring on it. Some of the plastic rotted where the spring broke free and made contact.
I pulled the steering wheel on my 89 vette as its horn doesn't work. It looks like a similar design. I would recommend pulling the steering wheel and see if the contact on the horn is secure or rotted out.
