Garage Rodent Repllent
My wife tends to forget about closing the garage door when she comes home from work and it can be hours before I get home to notice. I’m a bit worried about rodents getting into the vette while it sleeps for the winter...
Do those ultrasonic units work, or are the bait stations better? This is preventative more than anything.
Wondering what others have used?

Personally, I've never had much luck with ultrasonic. May i suggest the following thread, wherein mice and a dead horse have been beaten:

RV people seem to think Stay Away works. Can't be sure.

we've had good luck with the ultrasonic units, started with bait traps to get rid of present mice and once we had no more that was it so far with only using the plug ins. They don't want to come in, use two in our three car garage. our $.02

Think i’ll Grab a two pack; put one in the garage and one in the basement. Any particular brand you have had luck with?

If you have to open the door you have problems! Place your car in its own garage and seal tightly Nothing works to get rid of mice. If you feed them these chemicals they will find a place to die in your car . This odor never goes away, all the bombing of the interior comes back to haunt you. Moth *****,dryer sheets just leaves the rodents looking for a place to die. No rodents in my two car garage and i am the only one to enter and leave, tight as a clams ***!

When I moved in to my house the po planted fig trees and a bunch of other fruit trees. Mice and rats love those figs. I had the same dilemma. Poisoning them leaves dead bodies in the walls and nothing will repel them when they want food. I got a rat zapper and it works amazing. 4 AA batteries will kill about 5-6 rodents. It electrocutes them instantly. No mess. Dump the body and its ready to go. I found they liked dog kibble the best for bait.

Thanks for the reponses everyone!
Sealing off my car in it's own garage would be ideal, but unfortunately I dont have that luxury where I live. Until that time comes i'll give the electronic type a chance.

You're not addressing the root cause. Get a wifi enabled garage door opener so if it stay open for more than 5 minutes you get an alert on your phone and can close it remotely.

I have an older (2010 house and the lift master unit was not able to do this. Added a gizmo that retrofitted and I was able to have what you suggested

Bounce Dryer Sheets inside and mothballs tied in stockings under the hood.
Glue traps as some external deterrent.

I'm using Fresh Cab Rodent Repellent in my garage. I used 4 packs. Front, rear and sides. I'm getting ready to replace them with new ones every 60 days. I will let you all know how they worked in the spring.

I just place a few of the Tom Cat baits around the garage outside, then just inside to the left and right of the door. I see where the mice gnaw on the bait, but never see a live mouse...
