Default Cat Back

I'm in the process of getting a list together with timetable for improvements to my 91 coup. One item I've been researching is cat back exhausts and looking for input from fellow C4 owners regarding what has worked for you. Would like one with a deep rumble but not obnoxiously loud and stainless tips. Also a set that that has a quality fit and finish so if you have had a bad experience with a certain brand I'd like to hear about those.

Thanks for your input. There are so many choices out there and once you buy one and have it installed it's not like it can be driven for a number of days trying it out and then just pop it back in the box and return for a refund if not liked.

Over the 18yrs I've owned '88s I went through 3 systems (including OEM) before the Corsa.

The Corsa looks great, sounds good and will outlast me.

I have a Corsa on my 93 and had a Corsa on my 89. Sold the 89 but both sounded great out the back with no drone inside the car.

I have an Allen's Stainless Exhaust Chambered Cat back system for the C4's. It was easy to bolt right on and I have not touched it in 18 years. The tips on mine are the LT-1 rectangular ones but the sound is great without the dreaded droning of so many aftermarket systems!
While you are doing the exhaust it might be worth changing the catalytic converter while you are there. I installed a High Flow unit from Summit and according to my GTECH I gained close to 14 more horsepower when tried after adding the cat back system.

I also have one of Allen's C3 Chambered exhaust systems connected to my long tube headers on my 1968 C3 and it too is working great after 25 years or more, I was lucky and bought both at different times at Corvettes@ Carlisle, no shipping and sales pricing. I am happy with the chambered systems as I do not have any ugly mufflers under the rears of my 2 Corvettes. The sound works well for me, all the sound comes out the back and I don't have to listen to it.

I wish you the best luck in finding the perfect system for your Corvette! Merry Christmas!
