Hello everyone, I'm new here so please be patient with me. I have a 1993, C4, LT1 convertible, with selective ride control, and auto trans with only 62470 miles., my question (s) are: does the ASR have anything to do with the cruise control or is it just for traction control only? Also the selective ride control does not work and would that be tied in with the cruise control not working? I've spent $1500 for parts and labor trying to get the cruise working with no luck. Chevy dealer said wiring checked ok, fuses checked ok and cruise control module checked ok. About the only things I have not replaced so far is the speed switch at rear of transmission, the plastic vacuum reserve tank and the ASR. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
I have fixed several cruise control issues over the years and they all turned out to be vacuum related. The latest was on my 95. when I put the positive battery cable back on after doing thr front seals, I slightly pinched the line and created a small hole. I would thoroughly check all the vacuum lines and see where that gets you.
Thanks 95LT1ZF, so far I have replaced both vacuum hoses to the servo, both cc switches on top of the brake pedal bracket, the cc module, the cc relay cut off switch, the multi function switch (turn signal lever), cc servo, cc 3 way check valve and had 2 different Chevy dealers check the wiring and fuses - those checked out ok according to the dealers. I even contacted the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY and I was told to email a fellow named Daniel at the museum and he would offer some suggestions - but that was a month ago and I haven't heard from him yet. It makes me want to pull my hair out. (if I had any)
I second checking the vacuum lines going to and from the servo located right above the battery. My 94 had no cruise when I bought it, and it was just a broken vacuum line. Those lines can get all dried up and crusty with age regardless of mileage.
The little bigger that gets me is the vacuum line behind the hush panel. Putting the panel back on I've disconnected that line. Last time was when I changed the clutch master cylinder. Putting the panel back on and find out later I've pulled it off the switch,,, again. Could be that simple.
There’s also two switches on the brake peddle. One is for brake lights, the other is for disengaging your cruise control when you hit the brakes. Check to make sure it is making contact with the brake peddle while the peddle is up. I think it’s the switch on the right closer to the center of the car. They are easy to adjust......
