Hi all,
I finished redoing the interior of my 87 coupe this last weekend and just had to brag. A previous owner had changed the original blue interior to black. They had just put the black carpet down glued to the blue. What a crappy job. Anyway, I ripped all that out and put down Frost King to insulate and sound deaden (thanks to 92TripleBlack and Mike Mercury for that tip!) and new mass backed carpet. Also new door sills, sill pads, sill protectors, wood gearshift ****, floor mats, console door pad, and seatbelts. I repainted the dash pad black and the door panels, arm rests, side console, and console door blue. I also did the breadbox delete. I can’t believe how much nicer the interior looks. Took me about 3 weekends. Seat recovering will have to wait for a few more paychecks. It is real pleasure to drive! Thanks for letting me brag.
The first pic is what I started with.

WOW! That looks AWESOME MAN! I REALLY like the look of that carpet on that color car!
BTW: Who did your stereo? It looks , my deck sticks out like a sore thumb and I'd LOVE to get it flushed up to the dash like yours. Did your daughter do that? :D

TIMSPEED,
The Blows delete was the first thing I did to the car when I got it. It's a Pioneer DEH-P4400 (standard single din HU) with a faceplate kit I got from Ecklers. (My son did that one!) :yesnod:
It looks great, I even like the black seats although you are redoing them. FWIW, if they are in as good of shape as they appear, you may be best off trying to do a sell/trade with a Forum member for their seats rather than redoing seats in excellent condition. Just a though and it may not be worth the hassle.

Vette92,
The seats were redone in crap vinyl. They are not worn but hot hot hot in the summer. The car came with blue cloth according to the RPO. I may go that route although the black and blue did end up being a nice contrast. Thanks!

OleDog,
Breadbox delete used a kit from Mid-America. I did a writeup on it... http://aylstock.com/corvette/breadbox/
I'm working with folks to get it posted as a Tech Tip over in the C4 section.
Thanks!

Couple of things. First, it looks great, 1st class. Where to you get the carpet from and was it much to install? I am planning on changing mine from black to gray. You said you painted the door panels. what did you use? And not to sound to dumb, What is the breadbox?. Again really looks good.
