What year car? A SPID reproduction is by most 'legitimate' resellers only done after validation of a 'digital' image provided by the person requesting.

There's no established fact that the 'build sheet' is actually in the suspension member. It's 'assumed' by many to be there!!!

** A personal reproduction of a SPID I believe is certainly possible. I've 'tinkered' with some fonts in an effort to do one and hit on some very close that unless there were NCRS aspirations I'd think would pass the test. I can't share the couple I've done but a SPID isn't an issue. The 'Certification Label' on the door is an entirely different conversation.

funny you mention the door wvzr1 ha. my 86 i brought back from the dead is missing hers. but that is a different car.
-------

For this subject C4, all we are after is what the car was originally optioned with. I do see that by giving the VIN, the museum will sell us a "build sheet" for $50.

Do you know if the Build sheet contain all the rpo's that the car possessed?

They send you a complete reproduction of the window sticker as well as the build sheet. All of the options should be shown.

You still didn't mention the year of this car!!!!

A BS will be very detailed! VERY!!! Much more information than the SPID contains - waaaay more!

Cheers. VT,

BS is your only option 'unless' you stumble upon the sheet and it's legible on the fuel tank or stuffed in suspension member.

Were this a '90+ car I'm quite sure a GM Parts Dept could provide an RPO list - not decal/sticker but list of relevant RPOs not including likely sales option RPO.

For what it's worth, my '86 convertible had a build sheet in the K member and I was able to remove it without removing the K member.

The PO of my car bought the build sheet from the museum and it is actually pretty cool. Came with the build sheet, original window sticker, a letter from the museum and a few other things.

I got mine from the Corvette Museum. I think I paid around 100 dollars as I got something else also but can't remember what is was now. Was worth it to me as my car had been redesigned by a PO with different seats and such and I wanted to know what came in the car originally.

Window sticker and build sheet.
