Corsas Installed
JUst got back from having Corsa cat-back system installed on Ruby. All I can say is WOW :D . Had it installed at a Meineke shop and they charged $75. Owner said he had never seen an aftermarket system fit so well and come with all the necessary parts. Thank you Ken Fichtner for such a great deal :cheers: :seeya

I installed mine myself, except for the stupid catalytic converter flange or whatever it would've been less than an hour, great system :cool: :cheers:

The shop that installed mine said the same thing. Mine was their first Corsa install and they were very impressed. The guy I was talking to said they had run into so many problems installing Borla systems that they didn't even want to do them any more.

Went to a local shop (Speed Demons in Houston) who's having a special on these right now. Lucked out, there was a guy there with an LT1 WS6 Trans Am who had it installed (slightly different, but same company). He also had headers and the LT4 HOT cam. Sounded awesome...a little grumbly at idle (which I like) and freakin insane when he revved it up!!
So I'm going to wait til I get the suspension figured out, which could be pretty soon if it's just shocks, but I think I see a set of these in my near future...

I have Corsa's...and dyno'd 275 at the wheels...Tony who is bone stock of the same year ('96) dyno'd at 271. I did kick his butt in torque, but can't remember by how much.

Don't know about HP/TQ but it does feel stronger (although it may be just my imagination :) ). They definitely are louder than stock, but not too bad. When driving at highway speeds, there is no noise, but at WOT there is a very nice throaty roar :seeya

So the extra noise isn't annoying with the Vert? I have been wanting to get the Corsas or B&B, but I am afraid that the noise would be too much since the soft top lets more noise in...
Top up and down, the extra noise wasnt an issue at all at cruising speeds. I was amazed. At 70 MPH, all you had was wind noise, some exhaust. We did the driving around with the stereo off too, so we could listen to the real music :D
Only times when the exhaust is really loud, but not overly loud, is WOT, or any time that a fair amount of throttle is used.
Overall, VERY much worth the upgrade. Sounds like a whole new vehicle. :cheers:

Well, based upon your qualified recommendation and the testimonies of other happy 'vette owners, I went and ordered a complete Corsa exhaust system for my '96 LT1.
I'll let y'all know what I think in a week or so after I get it installed. Wish me luck. Bob assured me that a nitwit mechanic such as myself should have no trouble with the installation.
