Dash pad removal issue

Default Dash pad removal issue
Hello, new corvette owner. I'm trying to replace the 4x6 speakers in my dash of my 88 non bose car. I have removed all the screws and can get the pad to pull out about 3 inches before it stops. It appears the magnets of the old speakers are hindering the pad from pulling out. Anyone got around this issue?

If you have pulled the pad 3 inches back it is loose every where and is ready. Lift up on the pad edge closest to you and it should tip up and come off.
