Short shift install M6

Do I really need to drop the exxhaust system to install the short shift kit in my 95?

Yes, you do. I just finished this job on my 95 a week ago.

Did you drop it from the rear and swing it down a bit or did you removeit entirely. My system is totally stock.

I dropped the rear hangers, then the two spring-loaded hangers in the mid section, then disconnected the pipes at my long tube headers, supporting it underneath as I went. Out in one piece. Yours might actually be easier with the stock exhaust, not sure.

Dropping the exhaust is pretty darn easy. Once the car is properly jack standed...or on a lift, taking the system out should be less than a 20 minute job.
