Default Whee does this go?

While working on fixing the spare release system this part fell in my face. Where does it go? If anyone has a pic or can tell me where in the FSM I can find a diagram that would be great.

Sorry I have no clue on that part shown, but the year of your Vette may bring help from someone else.

You need to undo the screw/bolt. The top of that “T” rests in the top perch of that aluminum.

If the Corvette is still running great move on it might be a pop top from way back .. If you work on these Corvettes any year for long enough and something comes up you don't have a clue what is or what the hell it does move on if it runs good and drives good one can drive themselves nuts trying to figure it out .. Been there done that not worth the effort ..

that piece should be attached to a long threaded rod and rides in the channel you see just above it. the other end of the threaded rod has a do-nut threaded on it that fits in the channel on the tire carrier. turn the do-nut to snug up the tire carrier to the bottom of the body with a full size tire in it.
