Default 10.5mm wires

Hey Guys,

Quick question. I'm running a 1985 Corvette and I need new wires. I found a seller online that sell high performance 10.5MM wires for a very reasonable price. Any idea if that will fit on my distributor and plugs?

Looks like factory plugs are between 8-8.5MM.

Thanks in advanced,

The problem you may have is with the #1 Spark plug wire on the distributor cap...not sure what wires you’re talking about but unless that wire is long enough to re-route...I have 10mm Livewires on my 89 and the boot was so jammed in between the plenum and distributor cap it was not “snapping” into place so I had to use a longer wire and re-route it...and of course you can’t use factory wire looms with the fatter wires I think over 8.5 inches is overkill on these cars unless you are running headers and need the thick jackets...

If correct length they will fit dist. & plugs, though not stock looms.

Oops, not so sure about Opti fit??

85 does not have an opti it runs a distributor. The looms are what keep the wires neat and separated.

What would the larger wires do? Conduct more current that your ignition system might not use?
