Hey guys quick note to say I had the Service Engine Light come on in my 1989 Corvette and after checking for the error code (located under the dash just to the right of the steering column) it showed error 34 related to the Mass Air Flow Sensor. So after checking for any obvious wire damage and spraying the Mass Air Flow Sensor with MAF cleaner and replacing the two relays behind the battery on the firewall without any positive effect (the Service Engine Light remained on) I decided to buy an original, but used MAF from Jason at Western Corvette in Calgary. I am in the Vancouver area. Anyway, after I received the MAF (bosche part number 0280 213 009) I put it in and drove the car to the store and the Service Engine Light was still on, which was deflating because I thought I don't want to chase this rabbit anymore....what is causing this ??? That said, after parking the car (and saying a little prayer :-) ) I went into the store for about 15 minutes and to my suprise when I came back out and started the car the Service Engine Light was gone and has not come back and it's been several weeks. So this message is to say I guess the car/computer needed to reset itself and don't forget to say your prayers. ;-) Hope this helps someone in a similar situation.

Thank you ghoastrider1, just wanted to let someone know if they put in a new or used MAF and the Service Engine Light stays on take the car for a 5 minute drive and then turn the car off and let it sit for 15 minutes and turn the car back on. The light went away for me after doing that. Or maybe disconnect the battery before installing the new MAF to let the car reset and get rid of old codes. I kept the battery connected when I put in the new MAF so maybe it held on to the old error code. I'm no expert, just posting what worked in my case because someone may think the new MAF they just put in is faulty when they just need to do the above. Thank you.
