Bought my first Vette 2 weeks ago. 90, triple black 6 speed on e-bay. Got a good deal. Just getting started. Been lurking on this site for years. Happy to be able to join.
I'm a little obsessive and I have questions.

Have you checked the date codes on those tires yet ???
I've been on other forums long enough to know that I should have started with pics, sorry. Long story short I sold "MY" dream car in 1990 to put myself through college. I promised myself that it would be worth it and I would be able to buy a Vette some day. I even had a poster of an early C4 in my dorm room as motivation. Well, life and all the responsibilities that come with being a husband and dad happened. But, 29 years later I got my wish. It isn't perfect. But, It's mine. This is the 5th vehicle I bought off of E Bay. The trip home was interesting, I've never driven a vette before, and haven't driven a stick in decades. First 45 minutes were in Philly rush hour stop and go traffic. Last 30 miles were in a snowstorm. Last 20 minutes had me puckered. Roads were snow covered and icy. Someone earlier asked about the tires. Rear were Goodyear gatorbacks Best I can tell they were dated 1992.. Fronts were Kuhomo's that have been out of production for a decade. Got new Sumitumo's bolted on today. Just finished a Sunday drive with the top down and my 12 year old daughter as a passenger. Life is good
Nice ride! I'm glad to see that you have your priorities straight. Now that you've got it, drive the wheels off it! Once you get used to driving a stick again, you'll be glad you went that route. IMHO, they're much more fun cars that the automatics.
Not sure what yours was, but mine I sold to put myself through college was a 69 GTO Judge. I must say it sure paid off.
That is a beautiful ebay find! Congrats!
Mine wasn't as impressive as a Judge. But, you never quite get over your first love. Yes, it was worth it. But, as you know a really tough sell to a car crazed teenager.
welcome!!!!....In 1968 after Vietnam, I bought a 68 GTO and then sold it for college.......now driving an 85......still stuck in the past......still a good decision......
Wow! That is nice! I have a 94 conv white on tan auto... but you have THE dream car. Black on black conv stick! Great looking car!
PS did I see you had bushing and suspension issues/upgrades/mods you were doing? Mine are all shot, have to replace 'em! Would like to get your take on that....

When I got back from Vietnam in '68, I found that the car I'd asked my brother to take care of for me while I was gone, had been confiscated and crushed! So I bought a '64 GTO. Loved that car!
