How hard to repair this hood
Thinking of buying this damaged hood for my 93 vette that was crashed. How easy and what steps are involved in this type of hood repair? Thanks for any input, advice.... Unfortunately I need pretty much the whole front end of a c4 91-96

For a novice in their driveway? A lot..
A lot, lot, actually.
Add your location to your profile, or post it here.. Someone may have one.
Then try the used parts section.. Post a WTB Ad.
You'd be amazed at the stuff you can find there if you are patient.
PS: IMO.. If you wanted to fix it, you would use epoxy resins, and you would essentially rebuild the section out of cloth and cover it with mat and shape it, do the filler work and lock it down with an epoxy primer, followed by a primer surfacer, block, reprime, sand and finish. You'll have as much in materials, not to mention time, as you will in just buying a nicer example.
There's some major fiberglass repair in my profile. Some steps are left out, but it would basically look like that..
They were all a pain and fairly costly because of the materials you need to use with SMC fiberglass.
If you need help with materials, PM me and I can list what I used.

PS: I have found a number of C4's in u-pull parts yards.
Most of them let you search their inventory online, so it is easy to check.
Condition is usually poor, but the prices are cheap. I've done pretty well there, actually.
Perhaps try some of those?

Depending on the model year, Jason at Vette2Vette may have a hood. The damage on my old hood looks about exactly like yours, and Brett (who restores Corvettes, including C4s) recommended I NOT attempt to fix it IF another hood was available. "A lot more to it than it looks!", he told me.
I got my replacement hood for IIRC $80. But, in addition, it would have to be crated and shipped unless (like me) you pick it up in person.
New (replacement) hood: Before painting and after...

I have a hood, you can have for $100 that's in way, WAY better shape than the hood you've got...
Come and get it in UT. Or I can ship it to LA if we can figure a way to do it....
