'89 Vert 6-speed: carpet patch?
My "new" '89 has a hole if the side (red) carpet just below the foot rest near the clutch pedal.
My intent was to buy a piece of regular carpet die it and install to patch the hole.
I just read of a suggestion to find some "spare" carpet, say under the seat, where a small section could be cut off for the patch.
Has anyone else ever done such a carpet patch; if so how did it hold up?

It indeed has a great set of mats but they don't help the issue as the hole is on the left side "bolster" just below the left foot resting pad.
Looks like the hole is from someone's left foot sliding off the resting pad, down the side carpet onto the clutch pedal.
