1985 c4 power on 24/7
I've got a 1985 c4 Corvette that has power going through every thing all the time as soon as I hook up the battery all the gauges come on and the fuel pump primes and a bunch of stuff, it sat for approximately 6yrs and I just put all new plugs and wires along with fuel pump, injectors and filter on it and now I'm trying to figure out this issue so that I dont have to un hook the battery every time I'm done messing with it any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be the ignition switch or the rod that connects to the ignition itself has come loose and is stuck in the on position. When you turn the key does the starter engage? Im working on a similar issue myself with a 85 that sat for a few years, but mine cuts power to the distributor if you turn the key to far forward while starting, and by to far I mean barely past when the starter engages lol Im probably going to be doing my switch here soon.

Ya, so my guess is the ignition switch itself then, if the rod is moving to engage the starter. At least that is what I would try first. The ignition cylinder itself doesnt have any electronics, just moves the rod to the switch and the steering wheel lock. I dont have any good diagrams, but it should be on the column under the hush panel. From what Ive read they have some adjustment to them in the mounting bolts for engagement by moving it up and down on the column.
