I have the FX3 shock system on my 1995 coupe and all four are leaking, Thinking of doing away with the FX3 system and putting B6 conventional shocks on as I just cruise for comfort. Is there a way to trick the computer not to show a warning light or disconnect the lead going to the display.
The controller for the FX3 system is in the compartment behind the driver's seat. You will need a screwdriver (maybe a hex socket?) to open the lid. The controller has a harness connected to it so just unplug that harness connection. Then remove each of the shock harnesses at the top. You will have to remove the rear shocks to get to the harness for the left and right side. Use some wire ties to hold the end of the rear shock connections so they don't fall down into the inside of the frame rails.
Bilstein used to have a rebuilding service located in Poway, CA (near San Diego) but they have pretty much run out of replacement parts for them. If the FX3 shocks are just leaking, you may be able to find another source for rebuilding.
C4 Cruiser Thank You for your reply, I will look into that. Do you believe the B6 shocks will give a good ride? Right now with the controller set on Tour the ride is very good for a sports car, When I purchased the car 45 days ago it was on sport and the ride was like my 3/4 T Dodge was.

One thing that is input to the FX3 system is vehicle speed. VSS sensors provide input to the FX3 controller and shock stiffness is changed pretty much in real-time based on speed. So a switch setting of "Tour" at higher speeds such as 70-80 can actually be stiffer than the "Performance" setting at 25-30. My old '92 'vert had FX3 and I pretty much left the switch at the "Sport" setting. The car handled very well at moderate speeds and I didn't mind the stiffer ride. I did a few HPDE's with that car and the Performance setting was great for track use.
If disconnecting the harness at the controller doesn't turn off the light, you can always remove the bulb.
