As many things that you have to get out of the way anyway ; exhaust, C-beam, inboard U-joints... it’s just as easy to take the bat- wing down with the rear ended still attached. It’s a lot easier to get at everything with it all out of the car. Not nearly as hard as you might think.

Lowering kit doesn't drop "pumpkin" it stays attached to the body in the same position. You could say suspension moves up in the body. You could remove spare carrier if you want pumpkin to be more visible.
Service: I would drop out diff with batwing. Mostly because resealing cover is easier on a table.
